Hello friends! 

My name is Mary, I just confirmed my spot on this trip today! I can't even begin to put into words how excited I am to embark on this journey with all of you! 

I'm always really bad at this intro type things, but here goes. I live on the beach in sunny Florida, I'm currently finishing up my prereqs for nursing school and will be applying for nursing school when I return from Uganda. My goal is to become a full time medical missionary. I work with an organization here called Youth Outreach United which centers around serving the youth in the county we live in. I'm also currently leading the praise band at my church. I really love nature and playing sports. My favorite color is yellow. Hmm, I'm not sure what else I should include, if you have any questions feel free to ask! 

I've been to Peru on mission trips a few times and recently went to China and worked in an orphanage there. I have literally wanted to go to Africa for as long as I can remember. I actually contacted Adventures in Missions a couple of years ago wanting to go but my parents weren't on board at the time. I also emailed Oprah when I was in third grade begging her to take me to Africa with her. Needless to say, she didn't take me! I am so excited for the opportunity I have been given. I am so thankful that this door has been opened and I am actually going to Africa!! This trip is literally a dream come true for me!
