Hey! So I thought it was probably about time I introduce myself to the team, and I need an excuse to procrastinate studying. 

Anyways. My name is Marissa Taylor and I am a junior at Texas A&M where I have been doing prereqs for Nursing school the past 2.5 years. I'm actually supposed to be applying for nursing school...now...but have been taking a bit of a break with all that because of everything else going on.

I'm not going to lie..I don't really remember what I'm supposed to write on here...BUT I'm really excited to meet ya'll! I've never been to Africa but have had it on my heart for the past few years. My family actually hosted 3 girls from Uganda for a few days when they came to our church, and one of the major reasons I chose Nursing as my major is because of missions. I'm still trying to figure out what role God wants them to play in my life and I'm really looking forward to this trip to see how he's leading me in that. 

What else...oh, praise the Lord someone else said they weren't musically talented. I really love worship and I'm sure God likes the sound of my singing..but the same really can't be said for any human ears.

I went on some mission trips in high school, the farthest I got was to Mexico though...but I loved them and they were really what planted those seeds in my heart. I think what really drew me to Uganda was the way in which I'm hoping to serve the orphaned there as well as discern in what ways I might be able to serve medically in the future. 

I really have had so much confusion about what to do next semester, which is why I'm so late to the team. I'm still struggling a bit with my faith in how God will provide monetarily for this trip, but I think he has a lot to teach me in just preparing for this. So I'm excited :)

umm..I don't really know what else to say. My favorite color is blue. I like whales. I really really like food. And my token "interesting fact" for when you have to go around and share in pretty much every organization, is that I've never had a brainfreeze. whoop.
