Hello folks!
My name is Sarah Elizabeth Gibson. I don't know why I felt the need to include the middle name, but it felt appropriate, lol. Let's see...I don't really have any nicknames that have stuck throughout my life. However, I currently live with 7 other girls and 3 of us are named Sarah, so around the house they call me "Gibs" to keep it less complicated. So if ya really want to call me that, you can!
I am 22 years of age and I currently reside in good ol' Springfield, MO. in a house called, "The Palace." Like I said, I live with a total of 8 girls, and I am splitting the attic of the house with 3 girls, so it's never boring or quiet, haha, but I love it. I grew up in St. Louis, MO. and then headed to Springfield to attend Missouri State University. I just graduated this past May with my Bachelors degree in Psychology and a minor in Nutrition. I also studied abroad in Australia for 6 months which was pretty bomb.com.
I currently have 3 jobs and I interviewed for 2 others last week soooooo maybe it'll be 5 soon, haha. I work at my church watching babies in the nursery. I work at Boys and Girls Club running after school programs, and I work at Family Video, which is definitely my least favorite of the jobs, haha, but I get free movies all the time, so I guess that makes it worth it!
In my spare time I LoVe singing and writing songs, I enjoy reading the Bible and getting myself some good ol' quiet time with the Lord, I like spending quality time with my friends and family, Exercising, EATING, cooking, dancing, volunteering, being outdoors, and having fun random times with fellow fun and random people : )
I have been on mission trips before, but not since high school. I went to Kentucky two times for mission trips and I went to Colorado one summer for a mission trip. It's been awhile since I have traveled specifically for a mission trip, so I am pumped!
Hmmm...Let's see, ahh yes, the "Nit N' Gritty" as Nick so eloquently put it, haha. I am supa dupa excited to see how God brings all of us together as a team throughout this trip and I am just excited to meet all of you in person, because after reading all of these blog posts, you all sound like really fun and amazing people of the Lord. I am excited to experience living in Africa and to see how God will make us all more like him through this experience. I am nervous/excited to see the way that God breaks me through the four months in order to prepare me for whatever I am supposed to do for him after the trip is over. I think that's all for now. This concludes my first blog ever! Praying for all of you!
